It's official: LaterRex is live on the App Store
Hi again, it's Dimitar. I don't have a personal newsroom or a cool tie like Rex, but this is the biggest bit of news I've had to share, so I'm going for it!
As of today, LaterRex is out of beta and live on the App Store.
If you saw the post back in March, you already know why I got to building LaterRex. I kept losing recommendations from friends. Someone would mention a film or a book over coffee, I'd promise myself I'd remember it, and it was gone by the time I was done with said coffee. LaterRex was my fix for that: one place to catch all of it and actually find it later. That's still the whole heart of it. What's changed is that it's no longer an invite-only beta. Anyone with an iPhone can just download it and start.
First, thank you. Genuinely.
To the people who've been in the beta since March - a huge thank you! You found the bugs, you told me when something felt clunky, you helped make it better. I read every message, and a huge amount of what you'll download today came straight out of that feedback. If you were in that beta, this release is partly yours.
What LaterRex actually is.
If you're new here, the short version: LaterRex is a recommendations tracker for everything you watch, read, play and listen to. Movies, tv shows, books, games, podcasts, audiobooks and music, all under one app instead of scattered across five and a stray note on your phone. You keep your own library, you can see what your friends are into, and you send each other recommendations, so months later you remember exactly whose fault it was that you got hooked. There's no public feed to scroll and no algorithm performing at you. It's your stuff, and a few people whose taste you trust.
What's next
This is version 1.0, not the finish line. I have a long list of things I want to build, and honestly the order I build them in comes down to you as much as me. If you try it and something irritates you, or there's a feature you keep wishing were there, tell me. You can reach me at [email protected]. Your feedback is the magic that's made this better so far, and it's what'll decides where it goes from here.
So that's the announcement. It's out. If you've been waiting for it to leave beta, the wait is over.
Give it a go, and let me know what you think.
