You can delete your LaterRex account yourself at any time, in the app or on the web. It happens straight away and can't be undone: your account and everything stored with it are removed from our servers. LaterRex is made by LaterRex OOD.
In the app
On iPhone or Android:
- Open LaterRex and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap the gear to open Settings.
- Under Account, tap Account Settings.
- Tap Delete Account & Data.
- Type DELETE and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again to make sure it's you.
On the web
You don't need the app installed. From any browser:
- Go to app.laterrex.com/settings and sign in with the Apple or Google account you use for LaterRex.
- Under Account, choose Delete account.
- Type DELETE.
- Sign in with Apple or Google once more to confirm it's you. Your account is deleted as soon as that goes through.
If you can't sign in any more, email [email protected] with your username and we'll help you delete it.
What gets deleted
From our servers:
- Your account, its link to your Apple or Google sign-in, and the session of every device signed in to it
- Your library: every title with its status, dates, journal and episode progress, your tags and lists, the people you credited for recommendations, and any posters you uploaded
- Your profile, username and avatars
- Your ratings and reviews
- Your friends, follows and friend requests, the recommendations and asks you sent or received, and your activity
- Your settings and notification registrations
Deleting in the app also clears your library from that device.
What we keep, and for how long
A few things outlast your account for a while. Our Privacy Policy sets them out under Data Retention:
- Our backups keep a copy for up to 30 days, after which it ages out.
- Short-lived technical records, such as request logs, age out within 30 days.
- Records of moderation and account-support actions we took, which can include your account ID or username, are kept.
- Feedback you sent from the app is kept, without any link to your account.
- If someone credited you as a recommender in their own library, that stays part of their library.
Subscriptions and sign-in
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a LaterRex Pro subscription. Apple bills it, so cancel it first on your iPhone: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose LaterRex.
When you delete your account in the iPhone app, we also ask Apple to revoke LaterRex's Sign in with Apple access. If you delete it anywhere else, you can remove LaterRex yourself under Sign in with Apple in your Apple account settings. Sign in with Google gives us no token to revoke, so LaterRex may stay listed among the apps connected to your Google Account until you remove it there.
